Letter to the Editor from William Roberts • September 11, 2006
Regardless of how much Christians struggle to defend their understanding of a personal God, I respect them far more then those who adopt the utter stupidity of the atheism recently presented by Yukio Ramana under the gross misnomer “SatSanga.”
I realize that’s a serious animadversion but how else can an objective writer describe someone who advertises his sermon: “Being with truth” and then peppers it with disclaimers like: “I don’t know what the truth is” and the self-evident “I contradict myself a lot.”
How can anyone respect a “Teacher” who repeatedly states: “My words are just useless fodder for the mind!” These declarations were not misspoken orator fauxpas; they were intentional assertions revealing Yukio’s pseudo-luminary doctrine that got even more absurd.
We were told: ”Please don’t believe anything I say because I don’t want to contribute to any belief systems” even though the whole evening was a pitch for the Advaita Yoga belief system that was palpable in Yukio’s “belief” in “Radical Awakening!”
All yoga systems originate in the Vedas and from there we learn that the non-duel path of Advaita Yukio claims to teach, requires the perseverance and conviction equivalent to a highly decorated Army General. However Vedic dictum is that the people of this age are: “…quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky” and so “disturbed” (SB.1.1.10) that no honest person would dare claim being more then a novice spiritual boy scout!
Yukio is therefore either a poorly informed guru or a very sleazy con artist. His grand-guru, Ramana Maharshi was a powerful celibate, vegetarian, stoic, loin cloth acetic who had a reverent appreciation for the Vedas. Yet all those who claim to represent him repudiate the Vedas because they mandate that to really control the mind one must first tame their run-away tongue, belly and genitals like their guru did.
These people know they walk on eggshells and everything is so delicate. wholesale cialis pills tadalafil super active The FDA approval states that the pill itself doesn’t give an erection; your partner has to sexually stimulate you for this to work. Several Hollywood celebrities have told about the amazing effects these herbs have on men http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/tiger-kitten/ cheap levitra have been known for thousands of years in China and other countries around the world today. It took us a while to decide where we would have our first meeting, and not because there were differences, but generic levitra online because we pleasantly discovered that we had so much in common. By repressing these essential facts the Neo-Advaita that emerges is so dumbed down even spiritual Cub Scouts can earn their Advaita merit badge. The process is so perverted that any mixed up fool is promised that; “Without requiring a practice or effort of any kind,” they too can follow in the non-duel footsteps Ramana Maharshi spent his whole life mastering! In this way they are cheated into believing that simply by purchasing a $35 “Coming Om” ticket and “Surrendering” to a “Love Weekend Intensive” they will “experience…the infiniteness of consciousness merg(ing) with the frailty of our own human hearts.” (Whatever the hell that means?) In this way Advaita is prostituted into a grandiose delusional excuse for indulging in whatever one wants under the ruse of “Spirituality.”
Advaita twaddle snags trusting individuals who dismiss Bhakti yoga as irrational fundamentalism even though it is the prescribed yoga for this age and doesn’t require endless word juggling to reconcile contradictions. It does however require the humility to actually surrender to God as He reveals himself in the sacred scriptures which Advaitists are simply too proud to do. Yukio asks: “Who Am I?” After many years he admits he still doesn’t know. But that’s the first thing one learns when they are willing to do more then just pay God cheap lip service.
