1980 Mayapura Samadhi Proposal

1980 Mayapura Samadhi Proposal

After Srila Prabhupada departed on November 11, 1977, the need to build a proper samadhi for His Divine Grace became that focus for all of his disciples. The Vrindaban samadhi got going relatively quickly, but the Puspa Samadhi in Mayapura faced many obstacles and challenges in getting started. By 1980 nothing had been resolved for the Mayapura Samadhi proposal so I approached my local management and inquired to see if it would be appropriate for me to submit a plan for consideration. I was told; “Why Not?” So I went to the drawing board and the drawings that are shown here are what I came up with. This is a Historic Event sharing the images of the Unseen 1980 Mayapura Puspa Samadhi Project. c/o mayesvara dasa

This is a front external view. Notice the top of the stain glass windows in the furthest dome under the highest kailash in the back. This would have shed brilliant colored sunlight along to white marble inner samadhi temple and looked absolutely beautiful during the day. In the evening the same stain glass would glow out into the darkness becoming pilgrims to pay hominage to Srila Prabhpada.
