Pre-Thanksgiving Karma Free Feast

Pre-Thanksgiving Tofu Turkey Vegetarian Gathering!
This is the time of the year where the bad habits of our fellow citizens take front and center stage due to the holiday season. Slowly more individuals are beginning to understand how destructive a carnivorous diet is to our physical body, our collective social consciousness and the earth we rely on for our sustenance. In an attempt to present how chronic our situation is I put together the “Inconvenient Culinary Truth” presentation which shows how our diet has such a big impact on everything!

Despite all the petitions, demonstrations, protests, dances, and prayers for peace the whole world sits on the precipice of WWIII. Unfortunately very few individuals are aware of the subtle laws of nature that always prevail and in this case inform us that peace will continue to elude mankind as long as we continue to build heartlessly cold mechanical slaughterhouses. America leads the rest of the world with this particular dishonor. Our killing rooms are so efficient they are capable of processing as many as 400 heads of cattle into frozen beef patties every hour! This is particularly offensive because everything about the peaceful cow is benevolent to man and that is why they are very dear to Lord Krishna and we should protect them not slice them up to eat with pickle relish!

“My Lord, You are the well-wisher of the cows and the brahmanas, and You are the well-wisher of the entire human society and world.” (Visnu Purana 1.19.65)
A lot of the same people who deplore racism are completely blind to their own species-ism. Thanks to the misinterpretation of the Bible many believe that “…man has dominion over the animals… Genesis 1:26 & 28 ” gives us license to do whatever cruel thing they want to such innocent creatures. However Krsna loves all the creatures He put on this earth for specific reasons and He doesn’t endorse the reckless and unnecessary slaughter of them by cruel individuals that are merely addicted to the titillation of their taste buds.

At this point I will let His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami complete this Newsletter. Meanwhile I hope all of you in the immediate area will give careful consideration to you eating habits and come join us for a karma free uplifting Pre-Thanksgiving celebration on the evening of November 15. You will go home very pleased and quite satisfied that you did!

The following is a direct clip from the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust edition of the Srimad Bhagavat Purana Canto 4, “The Creation of the Fourth Order” Chapter 26 “King Puranjana Goes to the Forest to Hunt and His Queen Becomes Angry”, Text 6.
“At that time King Puraïjana was very much influenced by demoniac propensities. Because of this, his heart became very hard and merciless, and with sharp arrows he killed many innocent animals in the forest, taking no consideration”
PURPORT by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
When a man becomes too proud of his material position, he tries to enjoy his senses in an unrestricted way, being influenced by the modes of passion and ignorance. He is thus described as asuric, or demoniac. When people are demoniac in spirit, they are not merciful toward the poor animals. Consequently, they maintain various animal slaughterhouses. This is technically called suna, or himsa, which means the killing of living beings. In Kali-yuga, due to the increase of the modes of passion and ignorance, almost all men are asuric, or demoniac; therefore they are very much fond of eating flesh, and for this end they maintain various kinds of animal slaughterhouses.

In this age of Kali the propensity for mercy is almost nil. Consequently there is always fighting and wars between men and nations. Men do not understand that because they unrestrictedly kill so many animals, they also must be slaughtered like animals in big wars. This is very much evident in the Western countries. In the West, slaughterhouses are maintained without restriction, and therefore every fifth or tenth year there is a big war in which countless people are slaughtered even more cruelly than the animals. Sometimes during war, soldiers keep their enemies in concentration camps and kill them in very cruel ways. These are reactions brought about by unrestricted animal-killing in the slaughterhouse and by hunters in the forest. Proud, demoniac persons do not know the laws of nature, or the laws of God. Consequently, they unrestrictedly kill poor animals, not caring for them at all. In the Krsna consciousness movement, animal-killing is completely prohibited.
